Excerpts from “Field of Faith”

By : Lisa Hawkins and Bethany Huff

Have you ever hated you? Maybe you hated your eyes, your skin, your size, or maybe you hated everything about you. Have past traumas caused you to hate you?

The Bible says this about you: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.] 1 Peter 2:9 (AMP) So God created man in His image, the image, and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col. 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.] Genesis 1:27 (AMP) You were made PERFECT! You have been handpicked by God and created in HIS  imagine. You were made to look like God. You, in all of your imperfections, look like God!

I want to challenge you to ask the Holy Spirit to walk with you through the journey you have been on to show you where He has been in your life.

You will find that He has NEVER left you!

When you put yourself down—He was there!

When you struggled—He was there!

When you hated yourself—He was still there!

When traumatic events took place. He was there!

You may ask, how do I change the hate of myself?

First, repent that you ever hated yourself because you are a royal priesthood chosen by THE KING. Second, receive and take in the fact that YOU are royalty! You look like THE KING! Despite the past, you have been selected!

Prayer: Lord, I ask You to forgive me for the times I hated me. I repent of self-hate, and I repent for agreeing with the self-hate. I fully accept the fact that I am created in Your image and set apart as royalty. I ask that You show me my journey again through the lens of Your eyes that I may see that You have NEVER left me! In Jesus Name Amen.

When we see ourselves through the lens of Jesus, we are perfect in His sight. In His eyes we are made whole.

Through my journey, Jesus never left my side. He never let me fall and in His eyes I found everything I needed.” – Bethany Huff

As I walked down the sandy road looking into the eyes of Jesus Himself, I asked, “Why me? What is it about me that the devil hates so much? There is nothing special about me, is there?” Jesus replied,

“You are the daughter of a King. You are the princess of the Lord almighty, and you have been chosen for greatness. You are marked, and the enemy can see the light shining inside you. He wants to put that light out and convince you that you are not a chosen princess.”

“I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18 NIV)

The evil may have thrown darts to put out my light, but I was not alone fighting the battle. Matter of fact, I didn’t have to fight at all. I just had to believe, obey, and trust in the One who is mightier and stronger than the evil of this world.

“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 ESV)

From men trying to harm little girls, bullies and mean girls trying to tear down others to feel more powerful, not feeling good enough or worthy enough for love, to feeling ugly compared to the beauty the media portrays, thinking I had to settle for second best—the enemy was using everything he could to make me feel unworthy of God’s love, blessing, and protection. Greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world. What evil means for harm, God will always turn around for good. The brighter the light in me, the bigger the battle. The higher the calling, the farther to fall and the more significant target I became.

Holding onto my light and letting nothing steal my joy has been the hardest thing to do in my life. Then I heard Jesus’ voice,

“The quicker you realize you are marked for greatness, the quicker you can hang tight to the only one who can get you through. Hold onto Me, My beautiful beloved! The storm is raging, but I am the calm in your storm. Keep your eyes on Me, and do not look away. I will not let you fall!”

“But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 NLT)
