Crumb or Cookie

October 2020

Do you want to eat crumbs or cookies?

May we never be satisfied with a small crumb, but hunger after the fullness of who Jesus is!

As I was in my quiet place with the Lord and soaking in His presence, I had a vision. I was with Jesus soaring in the clouds. I looked out at the Kingdom in front of me in sheer amazement. This place looked like what most associate with Heaven. In my mind I thought how it felt like the flying Avatar ride at Disney World.

As I thought that and began to take in the beauty, Jesus spoke.

He said,

“There are no new ideas under the sun. They all come from My thoughts, dropped like bread crumbs from My mouth into your (human’s) spirits. It’s all Me, for Me, and because of Me. It is all Me and My doing to give you a taste of Me–My flavor and glory.

Feasting on Me is not so easy when you're satisfied with a crumb. Every crumb I drop is vast, but I am more, have more, and want to give you more of Me. Fullness to dine on Me and with Me.

Expansion of your appetite for Me is coming and is here now to receive. Some won’t want the extra weight, for they care too much about what they look like and what others think of them. But you, feast My child and become thick with love for Me. Eat up My child and enjoy My revelation. Feasting of Me is freeing.

Expansion is upon you. I will begin to expand My children’s thoughts of who I really am. I am coming like a tidal wave of wind to show My people who I am instead of who they think I am. Pulling, stretching, expanding is what I am doing. Stretching to remove the wrinkles in My Bride and healing the spots that have stained Her garment with the revelation of who I am.

You thought you knew Me, but I will now reveal Myself in such a “grandstand” way, no one will doubt who I am–who I say I am. Don’t fall for the false Me, the one they say to contain, but the real Me. The God of expansion–vast love, eternal redemption.”

“Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

(John 4:13-14 ESV)

I then had understanding that many in the body of Christ have been complacent and satisfied with crumbs, resulting in not grasping the vast and endless love of who He is and all that He has to offer. This was not a shameful understanding, but an exciting revelation and invitation to go deep into Him and soar higher.

“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.”

(Psalm 107:9 ESV)

I saw many that were hearing God speak. They got so excited and pulled out of the moment, eager to share what the Lord spoke to them or give the word. I saw the sadness in Jesus' eyes. He was happy they recognized Him, but He had more that He wanted to tell them. He had only dropped a small crumb and they ran off before eating the whole cookie. Although, I could see His enjoyment of watching them, He had more to give them and show them. He was polite, like a good dinner host, and did not push. He sat back, hoping they would ask for more–for seconds.

“Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

(Revelation 4:8 NLT)

I all of a sudden knew what the scripture meant in the Bible about the angels around the throne saying “Woah,” or “Holy, holy, holy” over and over. Every crumb He gives is a “WOAH” moment! Every turn of His head leaves them in awe. That is who He is!

In this season, He is expanding us so we can contain more of Him, like stretching our stomachs to hold more food. He loves giving us crumbs, but I feel He is inviting us into mature hunger to consume His wholeness. He is pulling and inviting us to press in deeper and not be satisfied with a crumb, but ask for all of who He is.

“Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35 ESV)

God is a God that can not be withheld. He wants to pour His all on and over us. He is seeking people who ask, seek, and knock. Ask, ask, and ask again. When they get a crumb of His amazing vastness, they will ask questions and learn more. Ask for a bigger bite.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!”

(Psalm 34:8 NLT)

He is inviting all of us to soar higher and know Him more. We can never get too full on Jesus! The saying, “That’s the way the cookie crumbles” will now turn into, “Taste and see that the Lord is good!”

I encourage you to press into His heart and when He speaks, STAY–don’t pull away. When the Lord shows you something, ask more questions. Every crumb is NOT the whole cookie. Oftentimes, we stop with the crumb and share the word without asking the Lord for the full revelation/cookie.

Many in the body of Christ are having accelerated amounts of prophetic dreams, visions, and encounters in this season. If this is you, I want to challenge you to dig deep into the revelation from His heart. Ask questions about what He wants you to do, say, or where to go. Ask if you are to share the revelation, how to share it, when to share it, and detailed questions to gain His full understanding.

This is not a time to be satisfied with a crumb but to lean in for the full revelation that is found in Him. Ask, ask, and ask some more until you eat the whole cookie/ revelation of who He is and wants to give. Let’s be a people so hungry for Him that we don’t settle for mere crumbs, but desire the whole plate of yummy cookies.

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.”

(Psalm 17:15 ESV)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

(Matthew 7:7-11 NIV)

PRAYER:

Jesus, We thank You for giving us new ideas, wisdom, knowledge, revelation, understanding, council, and might straight from Your throne. We reach up, take it, and delight in it. We taste and see that You are good. The flavor of Your vastness leaves us in awe and wonder. May we never become satisfied and full with just a crumb, but allow you to expand our appetite and comprehension of who You are. As we overindulge, may we become thick with overflowing love for You. Expand our desire to know You more; take us deeper in You. Stretch us to hold more of Your glory. Teach us to dig and ask questions. As we seek more of You, open new doors swiftly in this season. Make us a hungry people longing for more of You. I speak that old mindsets will fall away and make new pathways to receive more of Your vastness. Amen.

“The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever!”

(Psalm 22:26 ESV)

And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

(Isaiah 58:11 ESV)
