Jesus' Friend

March 2020

I had an encounter today in Heaven... I saw the Father. It wasn’t Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Although I’ve seen the Father before, this time He was more human than I’ve seen Him in the past. A new side of His heart.

I saw Him in deep thought and contemplation about something—deeply concerned. I walked over to Him and asked if He was ok. He looked at me with a questioning look. I went on and asked if there was something I could do to help.

He said,

“They are praying out of fear and not out of faith. They pray out of fear of who I’m not instead of faith of who I am.”

He showed me many Christians I would call “mature” believers and the incense of their prayers smoked with fear. Crying out for God to be someone He never was, instead of praying and speaking out of peace and power of who He actually is.

Grieved, I looked back to His concerned face with sadness. I told Him how sorry I was and asked again how I could help Him.

He told me to tell them not to pray from a place of fear but from faith in who He is. I saw that is where the power is held. In the understanding of the Father's heart and His true being. I saw how fear clouded even the mature believers from seeing the incense of their prayers. Fear had made a smoke screen.

The Father told me that because I asked how I could help Him, I was His friend. He explained that He was looking for friends. He was saddened by all those who were clouded by fear and not able to see Him as a friend.

So, I am here to encourage you to not pray out of fear of who He is not, but out of faith of who He is.

And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. He was even called the friend of God.

(James 2:23 NLT)
