December 2020
It is easy to see that it is Christmas time again. I have been adoring all the pictures of everyone’s trees and trying to decide which colors I want to go with for my own tree. Every year, around this time, I believe that I might just take up crafting and try one of those DIY’s I see on YouTube or become another pioneer woman and get to baking those cookies. Christmas is definitely a time of wonder and dreaming. It is that time of year when we plan that perfect gathering with our loved ones and favorite people. But last year, the Holy Spirit started to teach me more about the holiday season.
As I leaned in to hear Him better, the room filled with Christmas colors and the Holy Spirit began to speak of how Heaven celebrates Christmas too; how Heaven anticipates this time of the year with great expectation. As His spirit quickened my soul in wonder and amazement, Holy Spirit spoke to me in a manner of a poem:
Red, silver, green and gold,
These are the reasons that the bells do tole.
Red is the color of the beautiful blood that
ever did flow.
Silver is the redemption through which I do grow.
Green is the renewed life
that has been given to me.
Gold is the Glory of my savior
the returning King.
Christmas colors, they do have a meaning.
They are the plan of salvation and they are freeing.
Freeing from sin, freedom from guilt,
To enter the kingdom that God hath built.
Beauty that started so small
now covers the whole earth;
Beauty that came from
a virgin birth.
I sing, I twirl, at love of You dear Father.
I thank You sweet Jesus for the Christmas colors.
It had never occurred to me before that Heaven celebrates Christmas, but hey, why wouldn’t Heaven celebrate Christmas? Christmas time is about the plan of salvation coming down to earth. God left His throne and manifested in flesh to bring salvation to the whole world. I suppose the commercial side of Christmas kind of tainted my vision. Santa Claus, Christmas lists, decorating the lawn with a million lights. I guess my view was just immature and the Lord wanted to remedy that.
This year, I was in worship time and Holy Spirit started talking to me about Christmas time again. I saw a picture of Saint Nick and Holy Spirit started talking to me about the symbolism of this man. Saint Nicholas was a bishop in the third century that became famous for his Charity. Charity is exactly what Holy Spirit was highlighting to me. As he was speaking to me, He reminded me that charity is love and the Spirit of Love is Jesus. Saint Nicholas had partnered with Jesus spreading love and being the embodiment of Him. God chooses vessels to be carriers of His love. Sometimes that love takes on the persona as a friend during a hard time or an organization getting people inside and out of the cold.
“Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’” Acts 3:6 (NKJV)
Heaven is all excited about this time of year because it is a time when the earth is most in alignment with the Fathers heart. Christmas time is a season where His children’s hearts are full of love for their fellow man. More thought is given to the imprisoned, orphans, and widows.

The Lord will not leave us empty handed.
I saw arms being filled, overflowing with abundance, to be given away. This is a right now word and a word for every Christmas season. God wants His children to partner with Him in spreading charity and goodwill to those in need, those whom we love, and those who need a savior.
“Also he said, ‘Bring the shawl that is on you and hold it.’ And when she held it, he measured six ephahs of barley, and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.” Ruth 3:15 (NKJV)
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” Psalms 68:19 (NKJV)

I implore you to open your arms wide and ask Holy Spirit to fill your arms with good tidings. He will not send you empty handed. Declare to the Father that you want to be used for this great and mighty work to fill the Earth with His love and kindness. May you be blessed this holiday season and have a very merry Christmas.
